I have found this excerpt floating around the internet and thought this is something all women should read to fully understand that they are loved by their Creator.
Have you ever noticed how in the Scriptures men always climb mountains to meet the Lord?
However, in the Scriptures it almost never talks about women going to the mountains.
But we know why, right?
Because women were too busy to keep life going;
they couldn’t abandon the babies, foods, homes, fires, gardens, and a thousand responsibilities to climb the mountains!
I was talking to a friend the other day saying that as a modern woman I feel like I’m never “free” enough of my responsibilities,
I never find a space quiet enough to find myself with God.
His answer surprised me,
“That’s why God comes to women.
Men have to climb the mountain to meet God, but God comes to women wherever they are.
“I’ve been reflecting on His words for weeks and I’ve searched my Bible to see if what she said is true.
God comes to women where they are, when they are doing their ordinary daily work.
He meets them in the well,
Where they get water for their families, in their homes, in your kitchens, in their gardens.
He is coming to them while they sit next to the beds of the sick, while they give birth, care for the elderly, and perform the necessary rituals of mourning and burial.
Even in the empty grave, Mary was the first to witness the resurrection of Christ, she was there because she was doing the female task of properly preparing the body of Christ for the burial.
In these seemingly ordinary tasks, these women of the scriptures met face to face with divinity.
So, like me, you ever start to regret the fact that you don’t have as much time to spend in the mountains with God as you’d like.
Remember, God is coming to women.
He knows where we are and the burdens we carry.
He sees us, and if we open our eyes and hearts we will see Him, even in the most ordinary places and in the most ordinary things.
He lives.
And he’s using time like this to talk to women all over the world.
